This course introduces the novice or experienced police bicyclist to the latest techniques in basic patrol cycling. This physically and mentally demanding course combines emergency vehicle operations for bike officers with patrol procedures, tactics, night operations, scenarios, basic bike maintenance and on-the-road repairs. Learn to ride like a pro, avoid crashes and use your bike to foil the bad guys every time. Off-road riding and bike-specific live-fire exercises may be added at the instructor’s discretion. Participants must attend all class dates and pass all examinations to be awarded the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) Certificate of Completion.  Certificate will be sent by IPMBA. ZLAW-1062 Court Officer Bailiff Firearms Academy

This Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission 40-hour training academy fulfills the basic training requirement per OAC Section 109:2-5-05(A) for bailiff, deputy bailiff, probation or parole officer, tactical medical professional and multicounty / multi-jurisdictional jail corrections officer that carries a firearm in the course of their official duties, or an employee of the Department of Youth Services who is authorized to carry a firearm while on duty may attend Court Officer Basic Training Academy.

This comprehensive 80-hour course is specifically designed for law enforcement personnel only and requires department approval.  It includes both classroom and hands-on training in specific operation of police motorcycles.  It focuses on slow speed maneuvering, tight turns and emergency braking.

ZLAW-7054 IPMBA E-Bike Training Course

This eight-hour e-bike training module uses a combination of lectures, skill practice and isolation drills to help public safety cyclists transition their fundamental cycling skills from conventional bicycles to e-bikes. E-bikes are faster, heavier and less maneuverable than conventional bicycles; therefore, public safety cyclists must successfully complete the applicable IPMBA Public Safety Cycling course prior to registration. Note: This training module does not support out-of-class electric vehicles (OCEVs) that exceed the maximum legal speed limit for e-bikes.
